I attempted to use only my pen for this one, but in the end I cheated and 

decided to use some marker also.

Okay, you caught me...I also used some pencil crayon 

on the background too!

Oh well, I suppose, theres always page eight and nine!

Sean Connery and Kevin Costner were my choice for page four and five of my Sketchbook.

Again the sepia tone is carried forward.

I enjoyed the art for this page but I think for my next two pages 

I'm going to focus more 

on using the pen for contrast instead of pencil crayon.

Elementary, Dear SketchBook!

This is page two and three of my sketchbook project.
Sherlock Holmes and Watson from the movie due in December.
I was trying to maintain the sepia tone for this and do it in a "children's book" illustrative sort of way.
I really enjoyed drawing the clothes in this one.  You have to like the top hat!
Please keep in mind that it is just supposed to be quick sketch....I could capture the actors likenesses better with more time.

Sketchbook Project
My wife and I recently entered a sketchbook program. Drawing is a talent that we both enjoy, so we thought perhaps we should join this art program and draw together!  We've had a lot of fun so I thought I'd share my sketchbook with you.  My wife has already posted some photos of her book on her blog...www.creativecarmelina.blogspot.com

The theme I chose for my project, was, MONOCHROMATIC.The theme is only meant for a jumping off point and a person can develop his or her book in whatever direction their muse takes them!  I wanted to play with a sort of, "1930's, old sepia tone", look in the illustrations I produced.  Therefore the first picture I tried was of an actor from a movie I enjoyed.  Can you guess who it is?

The title of the movie was O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU?

Still can't guess? 

Another hint: This actor sings the song Man of constant sorrow, which was played quite frequently on the radio?

 Answer: George Clooney

It sort of looks like him?
