Family Art Time

Family Art Day
Spending time as a family, is so very important in these busy times we live in. Art is a creative outlet that my wife and I have always tried to encourage in our children. Over the years the kids have developed a love for creating and producing various forms of art. Sometimes we'll sit down as a family and draw a still life set up. Its really fun to see the same objects drawn from a different perspective. When we finish our drawings we all share what we've done. I think it is a great way for a family to stay close.
This picture is something I drew in my sketchbook.

My wife liked it so much that she suggested we scan and print a copy for all of our family to colour.

We had alot of fun sitting around the table, talking and colouring.
You should try it with your family too!
You might be surprised by how much fun you can have.
Bye for now!

New Banner

Do I have an amazing woman as my wife or what?!!
Thankyou my sweet Carmelina for designing such a wonderful new banner as a surprise for me!
Best "creative" computer highjacking that I've ever experienced!
I would also like to thank all of my new followers for their kind words of encouragement. It was just what I needed...like a good kick in the can to get to work!
Here is another sample of the childrens book I'm working on.
Hope you like?

On the "Ball Point" Pen Drawings

Here is one of my sketches, complete with shading and great tonal values.
Have you ever done a drawing with a regular writing, ball point pen?

This is an inventive and imaginary photo of my wife and I set back in time.

Looking at a work of art done in blue ink is unique. I try to keep my lines sketchy and free flowing so that there is energy and life in each pen stroke. More to come.

Dr.Crayola will see you now!

Drawing can bring one alot of enjoyment. Although I work fulltime and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do everything, I have found that when I do find the time,(or make the time) drawing brings me much satisfaction! Take for example the childrens storybook I have in the works. I've researched a great deal in regards to the subjects that the book will deal with. I've also drawn quite a few conceptual sketches.( Characters, vehicles etc.) I really enjoy the whole process of creating a story from scratch.
Does anyone else like to do this?
Here is another concept drawing of two of the stories characters. What do you think?
Well, I'm off to the digital drawing board. Ah therapy!!
Bye for now.
